   Lake District
A classical Lake District village with expensive tea shops, tweed wellies and labradors. Beatrix Potter lived in the small hamlet of Hill Top to the south of Hawkshead (Japenese tourist alert!) Located near the small Esthwaite Water the walks around Hawkshead are more of the Sunday strollvariety. Letterbarrow Hill has fine views of the Southern fells, Windermere and Ambleside. Alternatively Grizedale forest is nearby with various mountain bike trails. Tarn Hows to the NW is a picturesque a stroll from Hawkshead.
